Sleep. Oh, how I miss thee.

I’m tired. No, I’m exhausted. I have barely been able to keep my eyes open all day. I haven’t slept more than an hour at a time in months. Almost two months, to be exact. Last night? I may have gotten a total of two hours of sleep all.night.long.

Timothy likes his mama. He likes to nurse. He won’t sleep at night unless he’s pressed up against my bosom. Most days he won’t sleep unless I’m holding him.

Guess what, though?

Timothy has been sleeping for almost three hours! In his car seat!

I will be putting Timothy in his car seat to sleep every single night if I have to. And, during the day? He’ll be taking naps in his car seat.

I’ve missed my sleep!

P.S. You may wonder why I haven’t been sleeping for the last three hours while Timmy slumbers… Well, I still have a husband and six other kiddos who I must not ignore. Oh, the demands of a mommy…

My first didn’t sleep well in her bed and slept the first several months in her swing. Then one day I tried the bed and she slept like a champ – and has ever since! I am so thankful for that swing so that I could get some sleep!

You do WHATEVER works, mama! Is it just me or does his hair have some red in it??? He’s just so cute. Looks like a mix between Ben and Julia!

I had seriously forgotten how hard it is to have an infant. I don’t know how you do it, mama. I’m exhausted with one 3 year old, but I’ve got nothin’ on you babe! :)

But oh, that face is so sweet – it’s all worth it!

    Miss you!

Oh man, and I thought I had it bad and I only have 2! Although I’m going on 9 months of every 3 or 4 hours in the night. I don’t know how to get this kid to sleep through the night!

I discovered through trial and error that my first son loved to sleep in his car seat. I kept it next to my bed at night and rocked it when he fussed. He slept there for almost three months. When I had my other three children I did the same. Can’t mess with a good thing!

It was the same thing with my nephew. He either needed to eat, be held, or sleep in the carseat. Turns out, he was having acid reflex when he would lay flat. Being held or being upright in the carseat helped reduced the reflex.

I feel your pain! Sam still wakes up 3-4 times through the night. I miss being able to nurse the baby back to sleep though. getting up to make bottles has been a new challenge! I keep telling myself that this time is short and he won’t be needing me three times a night when he is 10 years old. Timmy is absolutely adorable! I am SO happy for you guys.

Oh Christine, I have been there and done that (with my daughter), and I feel for you. Of course, I only had one other child in the household, and it was difficult. My daughter NEVER slept, and only took 2 20 minute naps each day.

We had her in the car seat, stroller, and anywhere else she seemed happy, but she really just did not want to sleep.

I hope you get some rest soon :(
