Movie Night! {Giveaway} #PopCameraAction

By Christine

I am always amazed at the many opportunities that come my way here on From Dates to Diapers. The latest, but certainly not the least, of these opportunities is my partnership with Pop Secret, through Mom Spark Media, as a Pop Secret Mom.

What is a Pop Secret Mom?

Well, my main job – if you can even really call it that – is to tell you about the Pop! Camera! Action! Sweepstakes where you can enter to win a gaggle of goodies and even have a chance at an At-Home 3D Theater!

What makes this job fun is that one of my tasks was to plan a movie night with my family. (Boy, do I love what I do!) Of course, we decided to watch one of our favorites – How to Train Your Dragon – which is up for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. But, first, we had some shopping to do. And, what was on the list? Popcorn, of course!

Powered by Whrrl

When our movie night finally arrived, we had a house full of kiddos. Not entirely unlike any other night, but in this case we had some extra kiddos here! Take a look:

Guess what? I get to give away a Pop Secret Prize Pack, so you and your family can have your very own Movie Night! (Yet another reason why I love my job!) This prize pack includes a $50 Visa Gift Card, Pop Secret Popcorn (3 pack, Movie Theater Butter), and a box of Raisinets.

Entering is easy… Just leave me a comment, before 9pm on February 26th, telling me what your family’s favorite movie is and why!

I am a Pop Secret Mom sponsored blogger, courtesy of Mom Spark Media.  Thoughts are my own.

How to Train your Dragon was awesome! My boys went as Knight and Dragon for Halloween (too cute!). But what was up with the one teeny tiny scene that mentioned the helmets and his mother? Very random and not appropriate for a kids’ film. 🙁

I think every member of my family would say something different. I love Forrest Gump. My oldest daughter likes Wizard of OZ. My husband likes Rudy. My middle daughter (she’s an adult now) watches things I don’t think are appropriate. and my youngest daughter isn’t too interested in watching movies (although she spent last weekend at my oldest daughter’s house and they watched Gone With the Wind). My son and I enjoyed watching Remember the Titans together. It was nice that at the tender age of 12, he could appreciate the soundtrack (yay! we have something in common 🙂
I can’t explain why I liked the movie Forrest Gump so much, but something about it has just stuck with me all this years (you know, “Life is like a box of chocolates…”)
    Thanks for the giveaway.

We have had a tradition since I was little (and it still continues) that involves Christmas Eve dinner (we switch places each year as a name is drawn) and watching It’s A Wonderful Life – then we all head to Midnight Mass, have breakfast when we get home and we always got to open one present as Santa came while we were at Mass. Now that I am much older, I see the importance of treasuring our life and the lives of others we may be able to make a difference. It is a GREAT movie!

My entire family loves Harri Poter franchise. Of course first I encouraged them to read the book series because I thought that the movies were a bit too dark and scary for them. Once they were old enough we started watching the HP movies. Now we are huge HP book and movie fans!

We are a family that grew up on Walt Disney, and have continued the legacy! All Disney movies (especially the animated ones) are special favorites! My husband and I love Bambi as our all time favorite, but my kids’ favorite is 101 Dalmations because their grandfather has always owned a Dalmation (current dog’s name is Toutou–for ‘out/out damn spot!’) that they love to play with and run with, so they seem to identify with the Dalmations even more!
