There are most certainly things that make me uncomfortable, but I’m not afraid of many things. Those of which I am afraid, scare the living daylights out of me…
Spiders more than just make my skin crawl; I am terrified of them. I couldn’t even search for a photo to include in this post without being in tears, so I had to find a web. (I don’t know why I even tortured myself so.) We were driving one afternoon and I saw a creepy crawly on the dashboard – I made Ray stop the car and kill that darn thing! More than once was I eye to eye(s?) with a “hairy” spider. Did you know mama spiders carry their babies on their backs until they are hold enough to hunt on their own? When disruspted all those babies run off mama’s back, straight towards the disruption. Um… yeah.
I absolutely love being near the water. In fact, being anywhere near the ocean is my favorite place to be. There is nothing quite like watching the sun rise or set over the water, while snuggled in the sand. I’ll play in the surf with my kiddos, and sit on the beach with the water tickling my feet, and I’ve even tried to snorkel a time or two. But, I am deathly afraid of drowning. I do not like to fly over the ocean, drive over bridges, or swim under water. I haven’t always been like this and I can’t explain it, but my fear is very real… Ray’s given up on trying to talk me in to scuba diving with him.
Are you afraid of anything? Tell me about it!
